Notice of the making of this Statutory Instrument was published in

“Iris Oifigiúil” of 11th October, 2013.

I, JAMES REILLY, Minister for Health, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 26 (3) of the Health and Social Care Professionals Act 2005 (No. 27 of 2005) (as adapted by the Health and Children (Alteration of Name of Department and Title of Minister) Order 2011 ( S.I. No. 219 of 2011 )), hereby order as follows:

1. This Order may be cited as the Physiotherapists Registration Board (Establishment Day) Order 2013.

2. The 11th day of October 2013 is appointed to be the establishment day of the Physiotherapists Registration Board.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

(This note is not part of the Instrument and does not purport to be a legal interpretation).

The effect of this Order is to establish, under the Health and Social Care Professionals Act 2005 , a body known as the Physiotherapists Registration Board, which will register Physiotherapists, thus protecting the public by fostering high standards of professional conduct and professional education, training and competence among registrants of the physiotherapy profession.
