Notice of the making of this Statutory Instrument was published in

"Iris Oifigiúil" of 21st February, 2014.

I, BRENDAN HOWLIN, Minister for Public Expenditure and Reform, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by Section 4 (1) of the Superannuation and Pensions Act, 1963 (No. 24 of 1963), and Section 9 of the Ministers and Secretaries (Amendment) Act, 2011 (No. 10 of 2011), hereby make the following Regulations:

1. (1) These Regulations may be cited as the Superannuation (Designation of Approved Organisations) Regulations, 2014.

(2) The Superannuation (Designation of Approved Organisations) Regulations, 1964 to 2013 and these Regulations may be cited together as the Superannuation (Designation of Approved Organisations) Regulations, 1964 to 2014.

2. The organisation specified in the Schedule to these Regulations is hereby designated as an approved organisation for the purposes of Section 4 of the Superannuation and Pensions Act, 1963 (No. 24 of 1963).

EXPLANATORY NOTE

(This note is not part of the Instrument and does not purport to be a legal interpretation)

Section 4 of the Superannuation and Pensions Act, 1963 provides for the transfer of pensionable service in the case of staff transfers between the Civil Service and "approved organisations", and between one "approved organisation" and another. These regulations designate the organisation set out in the schedule as an "approved organisation".
