Notice of the making of this Statutory Instrument was published in

"Iris Oifigiúil" of 27th May, 2014.

I, PHIL HOGAN, Minister for the Environment, Community and Local Government, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 8 of the Local Government Reform Act 2014 (No. 1 of 2014), hereby order as follows:

1. This Order may be cited as the Local Government Reform Act 2014 (2014 Establishment Day) Order 2014.

2. The 1st day of June 2014 is appointed as the 2014 establishment day for the purposes of the Local Government Reform Act 2014 (No. 1 of 2014).

EXPLANATORY NOTE

(This note is not part of the Instrument and does not purport to be a legal interpretation).

This order provides that 1 June 2014 is the 2014 establishment day for the purposes of the Local Government Reform Act 2014 . On and from that date, Limerick County Council and Limerick City Council; North Tipperary County Council and South Tipperary County Council; and Waterford City Council and Waterford County Council are dissolved and cease to exist and new merged authorities become the successor authority in each case in accordance with section 17 of the 2014 Act.
