Notice of the making of this Statutory Instrument was published in

"Iris Oifigiúil" of 18th July, 2014.

I, FRANCES FITZGERALD, Minister for Justice and Equality, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 1 (2) of the Courts and Civil Law (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act 2013 (No. 32 of 2013), hereby order as follows:

1. This Order may be cited as the Courts and Civil Law (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act 2013 (Section 2) (Commencement) Order 2014.

2. The 11th day of January 2014 is appointed as the day on which subsections (2) and (3) of section 2 of the Courts and Civil Law (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act 2013 (No. 32 of 2013) shall have come into operation.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

(This note is not part of the Instrument and does not purport to be a legal interpretation.)

This Order appoints the 11th day of January 2014 as the date on which the provisions of subsections (2) and (3) of section 2 of the Courts and Civil Law (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act 2013 come into operation. These provisions repeal definitions in section 40 of the Civil Liability and Courts Act 2004 and section 31 of the Child Care Act 1991 , relating to the "in camera" rule, that have been replaced, respectively, by definitions in sections 4 and 7 of the Courts and Civil Law (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act 2013 .
