Notice of the making of this Statutory Instrument was published in

"Iris Oifigiúil" of 8th September, 2015.

I, JOAN BURTON, Minister for Social Protection, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 1 (2) of the Gender Recognition Act 2015 (No. 25 of 2015), hereby order as follows:

1. This Order may be cited as the Gender Recognition Act 2015 (Commencement) Order 2015.

2. The 4th day of September 2015 is appointed as the day on which the Gender Recognition Act 2015 (No. 25 of 2015), other than the following sections of that Act, shall come into operation:

(a) section 9(2)(b);

(b) section 10(1)(f)(i);

(c) section 11(2)(a)(ii);

(d) paragraphs (c) and (d)(ii)(I) of section 15(8);

(e) subsections (3) and (8) of section 18.

This Order provides for the commencement of the Gender Recognition Act 2015 (other than the sections referred to in Paragraph 2) with effect from 4th September 2015.
