I, DAMIEN ENGLISH, Minister of State at the Department of Housing, Planning and Local Government, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 5 of the Pyrite Resolution Act 2013 (No. 51 of 2013) (as adapted by the Environment, Community and Local Government (Alteration of Name of Department and Title of Minister) Order 2017 ( S.I. No. 358 of 2017 )), which powers are delegated to me by the Housing, Planning, Community and Local Government (Delegation of Ministerial Functions) (No. 2) Order 2017 ( S.I. No. 352 of 2017 ) and following consultation with the Pyrite Resolution Board hereby make the following regulations: | ||
Citation | ||
1. These Regulations may be cited as the Pyrite Resolution (standard for testing) Regulations 2017. | ||
Commencement | ||
2. These Regulations come into operation on 15 December 2017. | ||
Interpretation Generally | ||
3. In these Regulations: | ||
“Act” means the Pyrite Resolution Act 2013 (No. 51 of 2013). | ||
Standard for Testing | ||
4. For the purpose of giving further effect pursuant to section 14(9) (a) of the Act, the “standard for testing” for the purpose of the Act shall be Irish Standard 398-1:2017 Reactive pyrite in sub-floor hardcore material — Part 1: Testing and categorisation protocol, as published by the National Standards Authority of Ireland on 4 August 2017. | ||

These Regulations provide that pursuant to section 14 (9) (a) of the Pyrite Resolution Act 2013 , the “standard for testing” for the purpose of the Act shall be Irish Standard 398-1:2017 Reactive pyrite in sub-floor hardcore material — Part 1: Testing and categorisation protocol, as published by the National Standards Authority of Ireland on 4 August 2017. | ||
The operative date of these Regulations is 15 December 2017. |
