S.I. No. 425/2022 - Health (Miscellaneous Provisions) (No. 2) Act 2022 (Commencement) Order 2022


Notice of the making of this Statutory Instrument was published in

“Iris Oifigiúil” of 2nd September, 2022.

I, STEPHEN DONNELLY, Minister for Health, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 1(3) of the Health (Miscellaneous Provisions) (No. 2) Act 2022 (No. 20 of 2022), hereby order as follows:

1. This Order may be cited as the Health (Miscellaneous Provisions) (No. 2) Act 2022 (Commencement) Order 2022.

2. The 30th day of August 2022 is appointed as the day on which the following provisions of the Health (Miscellaneous Provisions) (No. 2) Act 2022 (No. 20 of 2022) shall come into operation:

(a) Part 1;

(b) section 6, in so far as it relates to the insertion, in the Health Act 1970 (No. 1 of 1970), of subsections (7) to (11) of section 67E.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

(This note is not part of the Instrument and does not purport to be a legal interpretation.)

This Order appoints the 30th of August 2022 as the day on which certain sections of the Health (Miscellaneous Provisions) (No.2) Act 2022 come into operation. These sections provide that the Minister for Health can, with the consent of the Minister for Public Expenditure and Reform, set the fees to be paid to service providers under the free contraception scheme for women aged 17-25.
