I, SIMON HARRIS, Minister for Justice, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by sections 3 and 6 of the Fines (Payment and Recovery) Act 2014 (No. 7 of 2014) (as adapted by the Justice and Equality (Alteration of Name of Department and Title of Minister) Order 2020 ( S.I. No. 452 of 2020 )), hereby make the following regulations: | ||
1. (1) These Regulations may be cited as the Fines (Payment and Recovery) Act 2014 (Section 6) (Amendment) Regulations 2023. | ||
(2) These Regulations shall come into operation on the 24th day of January 2023. | ||
2. The Fines (Payment and Recovery) Act 2014 (Section 6) Regulations 2016 ( S.I. No 13 of 2016 ) are amended by the substitution of the following Regulation for Regulation 7: | ||
“7. For the purposes of section 6(1)(b) of the Act, the following are prescribed as the means for paying a fine through the Courts Service - | ||
(a) cash, | ||
(b) cheque, | ||
(c) bank draft, | ||
(d) postal money order, | ||
(e) credit card, or | ||
(f) debit card.”. | ||
