I, DARRAGH O’BRIEN, Minister for Housing, Local Government and Heritage, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by sections 3 (1) and 13B(1) (as amended by section 87 of the Electoral Reform Act 2022 (No. 30 of 2022)) of the Electoral Act 1992 (No. 23 of 1992) (as adapted by the Housing, Planning and Local Government (Alteration of Name of Department and Title of Minister) Order 2020 ( S.I. No. 408 of 2020 )), hereby make the following regulations: | ||
1. These Regulations may be cited as the Electoral Act 1992 (Designated Registration Authority) Regulations 2023. | ||
2. In these Regulations, the “Electoral Act 1992” means the Electoral Act 1992 as amended by the Electoral Reform Act 2022 . | ||
3. Dublin City Council is prescribed as the Designated Registration Authority for the purposes of section 13B(1) of the Electoral Act 1992. | ||

These Regulations prescribe Dublin city Council as the Designated Registration Authority for the purpose of establishing, managing and maintaining a shared database to facilitate registration authorities in the efficient performance of their functions in relation to the electoral register and related data sharing arrangements. |
