Notice of the making of this Statutory Instrument was published in | ||

I, STEPHEN DONNELLY, Minister for Health, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 45A (7) of the Health Act 1970 (No. 1 of 1970), hereby make the following regulations: | ||
1. These Regulations may be cited as the Health Act 1970 (section 45A (7)) (Classes of Payments) Regulations 2024. | ||
2. The following classes of payments under the Scheme established by section 5 of the Act of 2023 made to a relevant person within the meaning of that Act are prescribed for the purposes of section 45A (7) of the Health Act 1970 (No. 1 of 1970): | ||
(a) a general payment within the meaning of the Act of 2023; | ||
(b) a work-related payment within the meaning of the Act of 2023. | ||
3. In these Regulations, “Act of 2023” means the Mother and Baby Institutions Payment Scheme Act 2023 (No. 20 of 2023). | ||

EXPLANATORY NOTE | ||

This Order provides that a general payment and a work-related payment made to a relevant person under the Mother and Baby Institutions Payment Scheme Act 2023 will be disregarded in the calculation of gross income for eligibility for health services under section 45 A and section 45 (5A) of the Health Act 1970. |
