S.I. No. 206/2024 - Private Security (Licence Fee) (Amendment) Regulations 2024


Notice of the making of this Statutory Instrument was published in

“Iris Oifigiúil” of 17th May, 2024.

The Private Security Authority, in exercise of the powers conferred on it by section 51 xref> (as amended by the Civil Law (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act 2011 (No. 23 of 2011)) of the Private Security Services Act 2004 (No. 12 of 2004), with the consent of the Minister of Justice, hereby makes the following regulations:

1. These Regulations may be cited as the Private Security (Licence Fee) (Amendment) Regulations 2024.

2. These Regulations come into operation on the 8th May, 2024.

3. The Private Security (Licence Fee) Regulations 2015 ( S.I. No. 362 of 2015 ) are amended by substituting the following for Regulation 4 –

“4. Subject to Regulation 5, the fees payable to the Authority in respect of an application for a category of licence shall be determined by reference to the following table:-

Category of Licence

Licence Fee

door supervisor

€150

enforcement guard

€90

private investigator

€90

provider of protected forms of transport (cash-in-transit)

€150

security guard (guarding)

€90”

The Minister for Justice consents to the making of the foregoing Regulations.
