MONEYLENDERS (AMENDMENT) ACT (NORTHERN IRELAND) 1969 MONEYLENDERS (AMENDMENT) ACT (NORTHERN IRELAND) 1969 - LONG TITLE An Act to make provision for the exemption of bankers for the purposes of the Moneylenders Acts (Northern Ireland) 1900 and 1933; to apply certain provisions of the Companies Act (Northern Ireland) 1960 to bodies incorporated outside Northern Ireland which are excluded from the operation of the said Moneylenders Acts by virtue of section 6( d ) or ( e ) of the Moneylenders Act 1900 and to repeal section 1 of the Moneylenders Act 1911 and section 21 of the Moneylenders Act (Northern Ireland) 1933.{1} [25th November 1969] Ministry certificate that a person is a banker to be conclusive evidence of that fact for the purposes of the Moneylenders Acts (Northern Ireland) 1900 and 1933. (n)lf80 MONEYLENDERS (AMENDMENT) ACT (NORTHERN IRELAND) 1969 - SECT 1 1.(1) Where the Ministry of Commerce (in this Act referred to as "the Ministry") is satisfied that a person can properly be treated for the purposes of the Moneylenders Acts (Northern Ireland) 1900 and 1933 as being a person bona fide carrying on the business of banking, it may issue a certificate that it is so satisfied, and that certificate shall, for those purposes only, be conclusive evidence that that person is so carrying on that business. Subs.(2) spent (3) A certificate issued under subsection (1) with respect to a person may be revoked by the Ministry if it ceases to be satisfied that he can properly be treated for the purposes mentioned in that subsection as being a person bona fide carrying on the business of banking, but the revocation shall be without prejudice to the effect of the certificate as respects any period before the revocation. MONEYLENDERS (AMENDMENT) ACT (NORTHERN IRELAND) 1969 - SECT 2 Application of specified provisions of 1960, c.22 to certain bodies incorporated outside Northern Ireland which are excluded from the operation of the Moneylenders Acts. 2. The following provisions of the Companies Act (Northern Ireland) 1960, that is to say, sections 356, 358 to 361, 363, 364 and 373, if apart from this section they would not so apply, shall apply in relation to a body incorporated outside Northern Ireland which carries on business within Northern Ireland and is excluded from the operation of the Moneylenders Acts (Northern Ireland) 1900 and 1933 by virtue of section 6(d) or (e) of the Moneylenders Act 1900 as they apply in relation to companies specified in section 355 of the said Act of 1960. S.3 repeals s.1 of 1911 c.38; s.21 of 1933 c.23 (NI) MONEYLENDERS (AMENDMENT) ACT (NORTHERN IRELAND) 1969 - SECT 4 Short title and citation. 4. This Act may be cited as the Moneylenders (Amendment) Act (Northern Ireland) 1969, and this Act and the Moneylenders Acts (Northern Ireland) 1900 and 1933 may be cited together as the Moneylenders Acts (Northern Ireland) 1900 to 1969.
