REPEAL OF UNNECESSARY LAWS ACT (NORTHERN IRELAND) 1953 REPEAL OF UNNECESSARY LAWS ACT (NORTHERN IRELAND) 1953 - LONG TITLE An Act to repeal certain enactments and to make provision for certain matters arising out of such repeal. [17th February 1953] S.1, with Schedule, effects repeals with savings REPEAL OF UNNECESSARY LAWS ACT (NORTHERN IRELAND) 1953 - SECT 2 Special provision with respect to repeal of portion of the Lands Clauses Consolidation Act, 1845. 2. Where, if this Act had not repealed the provisions of the Lands Clauses Consolidation Act, 1845, set out in Part II of the Schedule to this Act the amount of any compensation payable in respect of the compulsory acquisition of any lands would fall to be determined under those provisions, that amount shall be determined as if it were a question of disputed compensation to which the Acquisition of Land (Assessment of Compensation) Act, 1919, applies and any costs incurred in connection therewith shall be dealt with in accordance with section five of that Act.
