SHORT TITLES ACT (NORTHERN IRELAND) 1951 SHORT TITLES ACT (NORTHERN IRELAND) 1951 - LONG TITLE An Act to confer short titles on certain Acts of the Irish Parliament and to facilitate the citation of enactments by short titles. [23rd January 1951] Citation of Acts in Schedule. SHORT TITLES ACT (NORTHERN IRELAND) 1951 - SECT 1 1. Each of the Acts mentioned in the Schedule to this Act may, without prejudice to any other mode of citation, be cited by the short title mentioned in that behalf in the third column of that Schedule. SHORT TITLES ACT (NORTHERN IRELAND) 1951 - SECT 2 Effect of repeal of short title provisions. 2. The repeal whether before or after the passing of this Act of any provision conferring a short title on any enactment applicable in Northern Ireland shall not affect the continued use of that short title. SHORT TITLES ACT (NORTHERN IRELAND) 1951 - SECT 3 Short title. 3. This Act may be cited as the Short Titles Act (Northern Ireland), 1951. The short titles are footnoted to the Acts on which they were conferred.
