The Department of the Environment, in exercise of the powers conferred by paragraph 3(1) of Part I of Schedule 1 to the Local Government &c. (Northern Ireland) Order 1972[1] and now vested in it[2] and of every other power enabling it in that behalf, hereby makes the following Order:
Citation and commencement
1.
This Order may be cited as the Local Government (General Grant) Order (Northern Ireland) 2001 and shall come into operation on 31st January 2002.
General Grant
2.
For the purpose of paragraph 3(1) of Part I of Schedule 1 to the Local Government &c. (Northern Ireland) Order 1972 the districts specified for the year ending 31st March 2002 shall be the districts listed below -

The Local Government (General Grant) Order (Northern Ireland) 1997[5] and the Local Government (General Grant) Order (Northern Ireland) 1998[6] are hereby revoked.

EXPLANATORY NOTE
(This note is not part of the Order.)
This Order -
(a) specifies those districts which are to be taken into account in calculating the standard penny rate products for the year ending 31st March 2002 for the purpose of computing the resources element of the grant made from central funds by the Department of the Environment to district councils (Article 2);
(b) revokes previous Orders which are now spent (Article 3).
