ROAD TRAFFIC AND VEHICLES
Public Service Vehicles (Licence Fees) (Amendment) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2002

	Made	14th February 2002
	Coming into operation	1st April 2002

The Department of the Environment, in exercise of the powers conferred on it by Articles 61(1), 66(1) and 218(1) of the Road Traffic (Northern Ireland) Order 1981[1] and of every other power enabling it in that behalf, and with the approval of the Department of Finance and Personnel[2], hereby makes the following Regulations:

Citation and commencement
1. These Regulations may be cited as the Public Service Vehicles (Licence Fees) (Amendment) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2002 and shall come into operation on 1st April 2002.

Amendment of the Public Service Vehicles Regulations (Northern Ireland) 1985
2. In the Public Service Vehicles Regulations (Northern Ireland) 1985[3] for Schedule 7 there shall be substituted -

" SCHEDULE 7

Regulations 4A(1), 5(3), 9(2), (3), (5) and (6), and 12(1)

Fees for Vehicle Licences

Fee payable with initial application for a vehicle licence (see regulation 5(3))

(a) Buses -
Class I	Ј60·50
Class II	Ј60·50
Class III	Ј60·50
Class IA	Ј72·00
Class IIA	Ј83·50
Class IIIA	Ј94·00
(b) Taxi	Ј38·50

Fee payable with re-application for a vehicle licence (see regulation 9(2))

(a) Buses -
Class I	Ј60·50
Class II	Ј60·50
Class III	Ј60·50
Class IA	Ј72·00
Class IIA	Ј83·50
Class IIIA	Ј94·00
(b) Taxi	Ј38·50

Fee payable with re-application for a vehicle licence made within 21 days from the date of the service of the notice of refusal (see regulation 9(3))

(a) Buses -
All Classes	Ј18·50
(b) Taxi	Ј16·50

Fee payable with re-application for a vehicle licence made under regulation 9(4) within 21 days from the date of the service of the notice of refusal (see regulation 9(5))

Buses -
Class IA	Ј18·50
Class IIA	Ј30·00
Class IIIA	Ј42·00

Fee payable for a duplicate vehicle licence (see regulation 12(1))

(a) Buses -
All Classes	Ј10·00
(b) Taxi	Ј10.00".

Revocation
3. The Public Service Vehicles (Licence Fees) (Amendment) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 1996[4] and the Public Service Vehicles (Licence Fees) (Amendment) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2001[5] are herby revoked.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

(This note is not part of the Regulations.)

These Regulations amend the Public Service Vehicles Regulations (Northern Ireland) 1985 by increasing the fee payable -

(1) For an initial or re-application for a vehicle licence for -

(b) Taxi, from Ј33·50 to Ј38·50.

(2) For a re-application for a vehicle licence made within 21 days from the date of the service of the notice of refusal for -

(3) For a re-application under regulation 9(4) within 21 days from the date of the service of the notice of refusal for -
