The Department of the Environment, in exercise of the powers conferred by Article 13 of the Planning (Northern Ireland) Order 1991[1] hereby makes the following Order:
Citation and commencement
1.
This Order may be cited as the Planning (General Development) (Amendment No. 2) Order (Northern Ireland) 2007 and shall come into operation on 17th December 2007.
Amendment of the Planning (General Development) Order (Northern Ireland) 1993
2.
—(1) Part 6 (agricultural buildings and operations) of Schedule 1 to the Planning (General Development) Order (Northern Ireland) 1993[2] shall be amended in accordance with paragraphs (2) to (4).
(2) In Class A (permitted development) for the date "1st January 2008" substitute "1st January 2009".
(3) In Class A2 (permitted development) for the date "31st December 2007" substitute "31st December 2008".
(4) In paragraph A.3 (interpretation of Classes A and A2)—
(a) in sub–paragraph (1)(b)(ii) omit "(being a period following the operative date of this Order)";
(b) in sub–paragraph (1)(c)—
(i) at the beginning insert the words "subject to sub-paragraph (1)(d)"; and
(ii) omit "(being a period commencing after 31 December 2007)";
(c) after sub–paragraph (1)(c) add the following—
"
(d) for the purposes of sub–paragraph (1)(c), buildings, works, structures, plant or machinery provided prior to 1st January 2009 shall be disregarded"; and
(d) in sub–paragraph (3) for the dates "1 January 2008" and "31 December 2007" substitute "1st January 2009" and "31st December 2008" respectively.

EXPLANATORY NOTE
(This note is not part of the Order)
This Order amends Part 6 (agricultural buildings and operations) of Schedule 1 to the Planning (General Development) Order (Northern Ireland) 1993 by extending until 31st December 2008 the period during which the maximum permitted size of:
(i) a building or excavation used or to be used for the storage of slurry or manure; or
(ii) a building or structure used for both the accommodation of livestock and the storage of slurry or manure,
is increased from 300 square metres to 600 square metres.
