The Department of Justice makes the following Order, in exercise of the powers conferred by section 219(5) of the Economic Crime and Corporate Transparency Act 2023( 1).
In accordance with section 219(5) of that Act, the Department of Justice has consulted the Secretary of State
1.—(1) This Order may be cited as the Economic Crime and Corporate Transparency Act 2023 (Commencement No. 1) Order (Northern Ireland) 2024.
(2) In this Order “ the 2023 Act” means the Economic Crime and Corporate Transparency Act 2023.
2. The day appointed for the coming into operation of Part 3 of Schedule 8 to the 2023 Act (cryptoassets: confiscation orders) and section 179 of the 2023 Act so far as it relates to Part 3 of Schedule 8 and, so far as not already in force, is 26th April 2024.

This Order brings into operation on 26th April 2024 Part 3 of Schedule 8 to the 2023 Act, and section 179 of the 2023 Act in so far as it relates to Part 3 of Schedule 8, which deals with cryptoassets in relation to confiscation orders.
