The Scottish Ministers make the following Regulations in exercise of the power conferred by section 17(2) of the Abortion Services (Safe Access Zones) (Scotland) Act 2024( 1).
1.—(1) These Regulations may be cited as the Abortion Services (Safe Access Zones) (Scotland) Act 2024 (Commencement) Regulations 2024 and come into force on 24 September 2024.
(2) In these Regulations—
“ the Act” means the Abortion Services (Safe Access Zones) (Scotland) Act 2024.
2. The day appointed for the coming into force of the provisions of the Act, insofar as not already in force, is 24 September 2024.

These Regulations bring into force the provisions of the Abortion Services (Safe Access Zones) (Scotland) Act 2024 (“ the Act”), so far as not already in force, on 24 September 2024.
The Bill for the Act received Royal Assent on 22 July 2024. By virtue of section 17(1) of the Act, that section, together with section 14 (ancillary power), section 15 (interpretation), section 16 (Crown application) and section 18 (short title) came into force on the day after Royal Assent.
