    JUDGE A WILKIE QC

  1. The case of E J Giddings and C J Wood v Cox Thermoforming Ltd. This has been listed for hearing today as a full hearing of an appeal by Mr Giddings and Mr Wood against a unanimous decision of the London North Employment Tribunal to the effect that although they were unfairly dismissed, nonetheless, they should receive no compensation because, had a proper procedure in respect of the redundancy been applied, there was 100% prospect that they would still have been fairly dismissed and, accordingly, on that basis, no compensation was ordered.
  2. We are happy to record that this matter has now been settled and a compromise agreement has been furnished to this Tribunal, in proper form, recording that settlement. It is a term of that settlement that the appeal do not proceed, that the proceedings be withdrawn. We therefore make no Order on this appeal on that basis.
