    APPEARANCES

      NO APPEARANCE OR
    REPRESENTATION
    BY OR ON BEHALF
    OF THE APPELLANT

    JUDGE H WILSON

  1. In this case there has been a letter from the proposed Appellant, in which he says he is unable to attend the Court today because he is facing an unexpected situation in his business interests in Portugal. It is the first application, and we have viewed it in the context of the papers in the file, and also the contents of the document submitted in support of the preliminary hearing.
  2. We have decided that the matter should be adjourned generally to a date to be fixed after 28 November this year and that no further application for adjournment should be entertained unless it is supported by independent evidence.
  3. We also order that the sum awarded should be paid to the Applicant's solicitors by or before 5 December 2000 to be held by them, pending the outcome of the appeal.
