Summary: The complainant requested information relating to a police investigation. The Police Service of Northern Ireland (the PSNI) refused to comply with the request, arguing that it was vexatious under section 14(1) of the Act. The Commissioner-™s decision is that the public authority wrongly assessed the complainant-™s request as vexatious. The Commissioner requires the public authority to take the following steps to ensure compliance with the legislation: respond to the request, either by providing the requested information or by issuing a refusal notice under section 17 of the Act.
