Summary: The complainant has requested copies of correspondence between Stoke-on-Trent City Council and a named party since January 2007, and other related information. Stoke-on-Trent City Council refused the requested information under the provisions of section 36 of FOIA (prejudice to the effective conduct of public affairs) and section 42 of FOIA (legal professional privilege). The Commissioner-™s decision is that Stoke-on-Trent City Council has correctly refused the requested information. The Commissioner does not require the public authority to take any steps to ensure compliance with the legislation.
