Information Commissioner (Decision Notice) [2013] UKICO FS50489250 (08 October 2013)

Summary: The complainant has requested information from the ICO which relates to the workers and companies with connections to the North-east of Scotland who were involved in the blacklisting scheme ran by The Consulting Association. The request sought information about the individuals and companies involved and details of what information was recorded on the blacklist. The ICO provided some information it held in response to the request and refused to disclose other requested information relying upon section 44(1) (a) of the FOIA, by virtue of section 59(1) of the Data Protection Act 1998. The Information Commissioner-s (The -Commissioner-) decision is that the ICO has correctly applied section 44(1) (a) FOIA in this case.
