Summary: The complainant requested information about inspections of HGV lorries carried out by Hampshire Constabulary-™s Commercial Vehicle Unit for specified time periods. Hampshire Constabulary refused the request, and the subsequent refined request, on the basis that it would exceed the cost limit set out in section 12 of FOIA. The Commissioner-™s decision is that Hampshire Constabulary correctly applied the exclusion at section 12, and offered advice and assistance in accordance with section 16. He does not require the public authority to take any steps.
