The complainant requested all electronic communications between the public authority and Treasury officials in relation to the development of the new £1 coin to be introduced in 2017. The Commissioner’s decision is that, the public authority was entitled to withhold all of the information held within the scope of the request on the basis of the exemptions at section 36(2)(b)(i) and (ii) FOIA. The public authority breached sections 17(1) and (1)(b), 17(3)(b) and 17(7) FOIA. No steps required.
