12 December 2017, Local government (District council)
The complainant has requested information about ‘pay-offs’ and associated payments to senior officers from financial years 2012/13 to 2016/17, as well as the circumstances surrounding the departure of two particular officers. Hambleton District Council supplied some information, but withheld other details, relying on section 40(2) of the FOIA (information is exempt if it is personal data). The Commissioner’s decision is that Hambleton District Council is entitled to rely on section 40(20) of the FOIA in withholding some of the requested information. The Commissioner does not require the Council to take any steps.
FOI 40: Not upheld
