Charnwood Borough Council

The complainant has requested information in relation to council tax liabilities and payments regarding a number of properties. The council withheld the information it holds under section 43(2), 31(1)(d) and also stated that no further information was held beyond the information which it exempted. The Commissioner’s decision is that the council was correct to apply section 31(1)(d) to withhold the information. She did not need to make a decision as regards the application of section 43(2) as the relevant information was provided to the complainant previously. Additionally, following a disclosure of further information during the course of the Commissioner's investigation, she has decided that, on a balance of probabilities, no further information is held by the council. The Commissioner does not require the council to take any steps.
