Cabinet Office

The complainant has requested polling information conducted since January 2018 on the strength of the Union (UK). The Cabinet Office refused to provide it citing section 35(1)(a) (formulation and development of government policy) as its basis for doing so. It upheld this at internal review. The Commissioner’s decision is that the Cabinet Office is entitled to rely on section 35(1)(a) as its basis for refusing the request. No steps are required. Information Tribunal appeal EA/2020/0081 under appeal.

FOI 35: Complaint not upheld
