Summary

(Statement of reasons for decision given by letter on 11 March 2004.) On 24 February, the last day of the period for filing its evidence, the claimant sought an extension to 13 April, and on later reconsideration, to 30 March, on account of the number of disputed assertions and the difficulty of obtaining evidence outside the jurisdiction. The defendant was unwilling to agree any extension beyond 10 March, the only date available for some time for a meeting with counsel. In a decision on the papers, the hearing officer allowed an extension to 18 March (Hydra-Ject Services UK limited v Enston BL O/047/04 considered).
