Summary

The application relates to an article of furniture that can be converted between a sofa and a bed and includes two separate features which were found not to interact with each other. Following the reasoning of the House of Lords in Sabaf SpA v MFI Furniture Centres Ltd it was held that the invention related to two separate inventions neither of which was novel nor involving an inventive step. The application was therefore refused.
