Coming into Operation

The Treasury, in exercise of the powers conferred upon them by sections 2 and 3 of the Public Offices Fees Act 1879, and of all other powers enabling them in that behalf, hereby make the following Order:-
1. All fees payable to the Registrar of Companies in his capacity as Registrar of Companies, except fees in respect of proceedings in the winding-up of companies the method of collection of which is directed by the Companies (Board of Trade) Fees Order 1929(1) or any Order amending or replacing the same, shall be collected in money.
2. The Interpretation Act 1889 shall apply for the interpretation of this Order as it applies for the interpretation of an Act of Parliament.
3. The Treasury Order(2) dated the 31st January 1901 and the Companies Registration Office, England (Fees) Order 1962(3) are hereby revoked.
4. This Order may be cited as the Companies Registration Office (Fees) Order 1963, and shall come into operation on 1st April 1963.

This Order directs that fees payable to the Registrars of Companies in their capacity as Registrars of Companies in England and Scotland (except fees in respect of winding-up proceedings) should be collected in money, and not as previously in stamps. It revokes as to these fees S.R. & O. 1901/71 which directed collection in stamps only and S.I. 1962/1093 which directed collection in England in either money or stamps.
