The Secretary of State, in exercise of his powers under sections 2(1)(c) and (3), 21(3) and 22(1) of the Hallmarking Act 1973(1) and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf, hereby makes the following Order:-
1.-(1) This Order may be cited as the Hallmarking (International Convention) (Amendment) Order 1987 and shall come into force on 3rd December 1987.
(2) The Hallmarking (International Convention) (Amendment) Order 1983(2) is hereby revoked.
2. Schedule 2 to the Hallmarking (International Convention) Order 1976(3) is hereby further amended by the substitution for the entry for Portugal of the entry set out in the Schedule hereto.

This Order, which is made under the Hallmarking Act 1973, further amends Schedule 2 to the Hallmarking (International Convention) Order 1976 consequent upon the alteration of the Portuguese hallmarks for gold and silver, and the introduction of a mark for platinum, as notified by the authorised assay offices of Lisbon and Oporto in accordance with the Convention on the Control and Marking of Articles of Precious Metals done at Vienna on 15th November 1972 (Cmnd. 7219).
