1. The lengths of trunk road described in the Schedule to this Order and shown by broad striped hatching on the deposited plan shall cease to be trunk roads and shall be classified as classified roads as from the date on which the Secretary of State notifies the City of Bradford Metropolitan Council that the new trunk road is open for through traffic.
2. In this Order-�
(1) all measurements of distance are measured along the route of the relevant highway;
(2) (i) "classified road"as a classification for a highway means that the highway is not a principal road for the purposes of enactments or instruments which refer to highways classified as principal roads but is a classified road for the purpose of every enactment and instrument which refers to highways classified by the Secretary of State and which does not specifically refer to their classification as principal road;
(ii)"the deposited plan"means the plan folio numbered HA10-�YH96 marked "The A65 and A660 Trunk Roads (Burley-in-Wharfedale (Detrunking) Order 1989", signed by authority of the Secretary of State and deposited at the Department of Transport, Romney House, 43 Marsham Street, London SW1P 3PY; and
(iii)"the new trunk road"means the highway to be provided in pursuance of the A65 and A660 Trunk Roads (Burley-in-Wharfedale Bypass) Order 1989(3).
3. This Order shall come into force on the 24th February 1989 and may be cited as the A65 and A660 Trunk Roads (Burley-in-Wharfedale) (Detrunking) Order 1989.

1. A length of the Liverpool-�Preston-�Leeds Trunk Road (A65), from a point (marked "C" on the deposited plan) 165 metres north-west of the junction with Leather Bank to its junction with the Liverpool-�Leeds Trunk Road (A660) (marked "D" on the deposited plan); and
2. A length of the Liverpool-�Leeds Trunk Road (A660), from its junction with the Liverpool-�Preston-�Leeds Trunk Road (A65) (marked "D" on the deposited plan) to a point on Otley Road 340 metres east of its junction with Bradford Road (marked "E" on the deposited plan).
