In exercise of the powers conferred by section 127(1) and (5) of the Education Reform Act 1988(1) the Secretary of State for Education and Science hereby makes the following Order:
1. This Order may be cited as the Education (The London Institute) (Designated Staff) Order 1990 and shall come into force on 31st March 1990.
2. The persons employed by the Inner London Education Authority who are named in the Schedule to this Order are hereby designated for the purposes of section 127 of the Education Reform Act 1988 as respects The London Institute higher education corporation(2).

This Order designates, for the purposes of section 127 of the Education Reform Act 1988, five persons employed by the Inner London Education Authority ("ILEA") to work partly at Furzedown Hostel and partly at other property of that authority.
The Hostel was transferred from ILEA to The London Institute higher education corporation under the terms of an agreement between the Education Assets Board and ILEA in accordance with the provisions of paragraph 2 of Schedule 10 to the Education Reform Act 1988, the transfer taking effect on 1st April 1989 under section 126 of that Act.
Section 127 substitutes The London Institute higher education corporation for ILEA as the employer of these persons, as well as those persons who were employed by ILEA to work solely at The London Institute.
Established under section 121 of the Education Reform Act 1988 by virtue of S.I. 1988/1799.
