The Secretary of State, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by sections 15, 19 and 181(1) and (2)(a) of the Local Government etc. (Scotland) Act 1994(1) and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf, hereby makes the following Order:
1. This Order may be cited as the Local Government Property Commission (Scotland) (Winding Up) Order 1997 and shall come into force on 30th September 1998.
2. The Local Government Property Commission (Scotland), established by the Local Government Property Commission (Scotland) Order 1995(2), are hereby wound up and their assets transferred to the Secretary of State.
3. The following Orders are hereby revoked:-
(a)the Local Authorities (Property Transfer) (Scotland) Order 1995(3);
(b)the Local Government Property Commission (Scotland) Order 1995; and
(c)the Local Authorities (Property Transfer) (Scotland) Amendment Order 1996(4)

The Local Government Property Commission (Scotland) were established in October 1995 to deal with property transfer issues arising from the reorganisation of local government in Scotland which took effect on 1st April 1996. This Order winds up the Commission on 30th September 1998 and provides for transfer of their assets to the Secretary of State. The Order which established the Commission, and related Orders, are revoked.
