(This note is not part of the Order)
This Order applies only to Wales. It specifies the rate of discount under section 17 of the Housing Act 1996, for the purposes of the exercise of the right conferred by section 16 of that Act. Tenants of registered social landlords who have a right to acquire their homes pursuant to sections 16 and 17 of that Act will be able to do so with a discount from the open market value.
Section 122 of the Housing Act 1985 is modified in it's application to the right to acquire by the Housing (Right to Acquire) Regulations 1997 (S.I. 1997/619).
