In exercise of the powers conferred on the Secretary of State by sections 17(4) and 26(3) of the Local Government Act 1992(1), the Secretary of State for Education and Employment hereby makes the following Order:
1. This Order may be cited as the Local Government Changes for England (Education) (Miscellaneous Provisions) Order 1998 and shall come into force on 1st April 1998.
2.-(1) The functions of the Council of the County of Nottinghamshire referred to in paragraph (2) below shall on and after 1st April 1998 be discharged by the Nottingham City Council.
(2) The functions referred to in paragraph (1) are functions of the Council of the County of Nottinghamshire in respect of the following schools-
Big Wood Comprehensive School
Burford Primary School
Warren Primary School
Wilford Meadows Comprehensive School
including any functions of the local education authority under the articles of government for any of these schools.
3. Becket School shall be treated for all purposes connected with education as if it were wholly within the area of the County of Nottinghamshire.

This Order provides for the exercise on and after 1st April 1998 of functions in respect of specified schools in consequence of the transfer of certain local authority functions from the Nottinghamshire County Council to the Nottingham City Council.
