1. This Order may be cited as the A43 Trunk Road (M40 to B4031 Improvement) (Detrunking) Order 2000 and shall come into force on 9th June 2000.
2. In this Order-
(i)"the plan" means the plan numbered PSE/O/A43/2/65/2/2 marked "The A43 Trunk Road (M40 to B4031 Improvement) (Detrunking) Order 2000" signed by authority of the Secretary of State for the Environment, Transport and the Regions and deposited at the Highways Agency, St. Christopher House, Southwark Street, London SE1 0SE;
(ii)"the trunk road" means the A43 Trunk Road; and
(iii)"the new trunk roads" means the new highways which the Secretary of State proposes to construct referred to in the A43 Trunk Road (M40 to B4031 Improvement) Order 2000, and the A43 Trunk Road (M40 to B4031 Improvement Slip Roads) Order 2000.
3. The lengths of the trunk road described in the Schedule to this Order shall cease to be trunk road from the date on which the Secretary of State notifies the County Council of Oxfordshire, that the new trunk roads are open for traffic.

The lengths of the trunk road ceasing to be a trunk road (shown by broad black dashes on the plan) are:
(1) from its junction with the B4100 for a distance of 130 metres in a northerly direction at Baynards Green;
(2) from a point 300 metres north east of its junction with Tower Road for a distance of 1450 metres in a north-easterly direction at Tusmore;
all in the County of Oxfordshire.
