(This note is not part of the Regulations)
These Regulations amend the Bovines and Bovine Products (Trade) Regulations 1999 (S.I. 1999/1103, as amended-"the Principal Regulations") insofar as they extend to England. The Principal Regulations give effect to Commission Decisions 98/692/EC (OJ No. L328, 4.12.98, p. 28) and 98/564/EC (OJ No. L273, 9.10.98. p. 37) which amended Council Decision 98/256/EC (OJ No. L113, 15.4.98, p. 32).
The effect of the amendments is to permit the despatch of bone-in beef from premises approved under the Date Based Export Scheme to the domestic market.
A Regulatory impact assessment has been prepared and placed in the library of each House of Parliament. Copies can be obtained from the Beef Export Task Force in the Animal Health (BSE & IT) Division of the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food, 1A Page Street, London SW1P 4PQ.
