CIVIL PARTNERSHIP, ENGLAND AND WALES

The Registration of Civil Partnerships (Fees) Order 2005

  Made 19th July 2005 
  Laid before Parliament 20th July 2005 
  Coming into force 5th December 2005 

The Chancellor of the Exchequer, in exercise of the powers conferred upon him by sections 34(1) and 36(4) of the Civil Partnership Act 2004[1] and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf, hereby makes the following Order:

Citation and commencement
     1. This Order may be cited as the Registration of Civil Partnerships (Fees) Order 2005 and shall come into force on 5th December 2005.

Fees payable
    
2. In respect of the matters set out in the first column of the Schedule to this Order, the fee specified in the second column shall be payable to the person specified in the third column.

     1. Attestation by an authorised person[2] of the necessary declaration[3]

£30.00 The registration authority to which the notice is given
     2. Attendance of an authorised person at a place other than one provided by the registration authority, for the purpose of attesting the necessary declaration in accordance with the procedures for house-bound and detained persons[4]

£47.00 The registration authority to which the notice is given
     3. Attestation by an authorised person of the necessary declaration under the special procedure[5]

The registration authority to which the notice is given
     4. Application to shorten the waiting period[6]

£28.00 The Registrar General or the registration authority exercising his power, as the case may be
     5. Issue of Registrar General's licence

£15.00 The Registrar General
     6. Signing by the civil partnership registrar[7] of the civil partnership schedule[8]

£40.00 The registration authority which designated that individual a civil partnership registrar
     7. Attendance of the civil partnership registrar for the purpose of signing the civil partnership schedule in accordance with the procedures for house-bound and detained persons

£47.00 The registration authority which designated that individual a civil partnership registrar
     8. Attendance of the civil partnership registrar in whose presence the Registrar General's licence is signed

£2.00

(This note is not part of the Order)


In relation to the registration of civil partnerships, this Order specifies what fees are to be paid, the amount of them and who they are to be paid to.

This Order does not impose a charge on business.
