NATIONAL HEALTH SERVICE, ENGLAND AND WALES

The Health Service Commissioner for England (Special Health Authorities) Order 2006

  Made 14th February 2006 
  Laid before Parliament 24th February 2006 
  Coming into force 1st April 2006

Present,

The Queen's Most Excellent Majesty in Council

Her Majesty, in exercise of the powers in section 2(5)(b) and (6)(b) of the Health Service Commissioners Act 1993[1], is pleased, by and with the advice of Her Privy Council, to order, and it is hereby ordered, as follows:

Citation and commencement
     1. This Order may be cited as the Health Service Commissioner for England (Special Health Authorities) Order 2006 and shall come into force on 1st April 2006.

Designation as body subject to investigation
    
2. The NHS Business Services Authority (Awdurdod Gwasanaethau Busnes y GIG)[2] is designated as a Special Health Authority to which section 2(1) of the Health Service Commissioners Act 1993 (bodies subject to investigation by the Health Service Commissioner for England) [3] applies.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

(This note is not part of the Order)


This Order designates the Special Health Authority, the NHS Business Services Authority (Awdurdod Gwasanaethau Busnes y GIG), as a health service body subject to investigation by the Health Service Commissioner for England under section 2 of the Health Service Commissioners Act 1993.

[1] 1993 c.46; section 2(5) was amended by sections 112 and 152 of, and paragraph 3(3) of Schedule 10 and Part 1 of Schedule 18 to, the Government of Wales Act 1998 (c.38) ("the 1998 Act"); section 2(6) was substituted by section 112 of, and paragraph 3(4) of Schedule 10 to, the 1998 Act.back
