The Secretary of State for Transport makes this Order in exercise of powers conferred by section 10 of the Highways Act 1980[1] and now vested in him[2]—
1.
This Order may be cited as the A1 Trunk Road (A151/B676 Junction and B6403 Junction Improvements Colsterworth) (Detrunking) Order 2007 and shall come into force on 16 February 2007.

In this Order—
(i) "classified road" as a classification for a highway, means that the highway is not a principal road for the purposes of enactments or instruments which refer to highways classified as principal roads but is a classified road for the purpose of every enactment and instruments which refers to highways classified by the Secretary of State and which does not specifically refer to their classification as principal roads;
(ii) "the plan" means the plan folio consisting of the key plan and the site plan, numbered "HA 10/MP/061" and titled "The A1 Trunk Road (A151/B676 Junction and B6403 Junction Improvements Colsterworth) (Detrunking) Order 2007" signed by authority of the Secretary of State for Transport, DfT Records Management Branch, Floor 13 (IMD), Ashdown House, St Leonards on Sea, Hastings, East Sussex TN37 7GA;
(iii) "principal road" as a classification for a highway, means that the highway is a principal road for the purposes of enactments and instruments which refer to highways classified as principal roads and is also classified for the purpose of every other enactment and instrument which refers to highways classified by the Secretary of State;
(iv) "the new trunk roads" means the new highway defined in article 2(2) of the A1 Trunk Road (A151/B676 Junction and B6403 Junction Improvements Colsterworth) Order 2007; and
(v) "the trunk road" means the London to Edinburgh Trunk Road (A1).

The lengths of the trunk road described in the Schedule to this Order shall cease to be a trunk road and shall be classified as a classified road from the date on which the Secretary of State notifies Lincolnshire County Council that the new trunk roads are open for traffic.

THE SCHEDULE
LENGTHS OF THE TRUNK ROAD CEASING TO BE A TRUNK ROAD
Junction with the A151 and B676 at Colsterworth Roundabout.
The lengths of trunk road ceasing to be a trunk road are situated as follows:
(1) over full width of part of the highway to the east of A1/A151/B676 Colsterworth roundabout between a point approximately 26 metres north-west of the centre of Colsterworth roundabout and a point approximately 35 metres south-west of the same roundabout, and shown by broad black diagonal dashes on the plan; and
(2) over full and part width of part of the highway at A1/A151/B676 Colsterworth roundabout between a point approximately 20 metres east of the Colsterworth roundabout and a point approximately 40 metres east of the same roundabout, and shown by broad black diagonal dashes on the plan.
