EMPLOYMENT

The Gangmasters (Licensing Conditions) (No.2) (Amendment) Rules 2007

  Made 12th February 2007 
  Laid before Parliament 19th February 2007 
  Coming into force 6th April 2007 

The Gangmasters Licensing Authority, following consultation with the Secretary of State in accordance with section 8(3) of the Gangmasters (Licensing) Act 2004[1], in exercise of the powers conferred by section 8 of that Act, makes the following Rules:

Citation and commencement
     1. These Rules may be cited as the Gangmasters (Licensing Conditions) (No.2) (Amendment) Rules 2007 and come into force on 6th April 2007.

Amendments to rule 7 (the application fee and renewal fee)
    
2. —(1) Rule 7 of the Gangmasters (Licensing Conditions) (No.2) Rules 2006[2] is amended as follows:

    (2) For the table substitute—

≥5<10 B 4,500

EXPLANATORY NOTE

(This note is not part of the Order)


These Rules amend the Gangmasters (Licensing Conditions) (No.2) Rules 2006 (SI 2006/2373) which establish the procedure for licensing gangmasters covered by the provisions of the Gangmasters (Licensing) Act 2004 and the conditions that will apply to the licences.

Rule 7 is amended to prescribe the licence fee for the financial year 2007-2008. The previous annual fees were Fee Band A £4,000, Fee Band B £2,000, Fee Band C £750 and Fee Band D £250.

A Regulatory Impact Assessment of the effect that this instrument will have on the costs of business has been prepared and has been placed in the library of each House of Parliament. Copies may be obtained from the Gangmasters Licensing Authority, PO Box 8538, Nottingham, NG8 9AF.
