PUBLIC PASSENGER TRANSPORT, ENGLAND AND WALES

The Public Service Vehicles (Registration of Local Services) (Amendment) (England and Wales) Regulations 2007

  Made 6th March 2007

  Coming into force 1st April 2007 

The Secretary of State for Transport makes the following Regulations in exercise of the powers conferred by sections 52(1) and 60(1)(e) and (1A) of the Public Passenger Vehicles Act 1981[1] and by sections 126(1) and 134 of the Transport Act 1985[2]; and by virtue of the Department of Transport (Fees) Order 1988[3].

     He has consulted with representative organisations in accordance with section 61(2) of the Public Passenger Vehicles Act 1981[4].

Citation, commencement and extent
     1. —(1) These Regulations may be cited as the Public Service Vehicles (Registration of Local Services) (Amendment) (England and Wales) Regulations 2007 and shall come into force on 1st April 2007.

    
2. These regulations extend to England and Wales[5]

Amendment of the principal Regulations
     3. —(1) The Public Service Vehicles (Registration of Local Services) Regulations 1986[6] are amended as follows.

    (2) In regulations 12(1)(a) and 12(2)(a) for "£11" substitute "£12".

    (3) In regulations 12(1)(b) and 12(2)(b) for "£51" substitute "£54".

EXPLANATORY NOTE

(This note is not part of the Regulations)


These Regulations increase the fee for the registration of, or the variation of the registration of, a local bus service. The fee for a local bus service other than a community bus service is increased from £51 to £54 (an increase of 5.9% ). The fees were last increased on 30th September 2005.

These Regulations also increase the fee for the registration of, or the variation of the registration of, a Community Bus Service other than a service supplied under an agreement providing for service subsidies. The fee is increased from £11 to £12 (an increase of 9.1% ). The fees were last increased on 1st October 2004.
