The Secretary of State for Business, Innovation and Skills makes the following Regulations in exercise of the powers conferred by sections 136(c) and 210(7) of the Education Act 2002(1).

Citation and commencement

1. These Regulations may be cited as the Further Education Teachers' Continuing Professional Development and Registration (England) (Revocation) Regulations 2012 and come into force on 30th September 2012.

Revocation

2. The following Regulations are revoked-

(a)the Further Education Teachers' Continuing Professional Development and Registration (England) Regulations 2007(2); and

(b)regulation 3 of the Further Education Teachers' Qualifications, Continuing Professional Development and Registration (England) (Amendment) Regulations 2012(3).

EXPLANATORY NOTE

(This note is not part of the Regulations)

These Regulations revoke the Further Education Teachers' Continuing Professional Development and Registration (England) Regulations 2007. These Regulations required teachers to complete a minimum number of hours of continuing professional development (CPD) every year, maintain a record of such CPD and make that record available, as specified. They also required teachers to register and maintain registration with the Institute for Learning.

An impact assessment has not been produced for this instrument as no impact on the private or voluntary sectors is foreseen. The Explanatory Memorandum is published alongside these Regulations on www.legislation.gov.uk.
