The Secretary of State makes the following Order in exercise of the powers conferred by section 37 of the Prison Act 1952(1):
1. This Order may be cited as the Closure of Prisons Order 2012 and comes into force on 8th February 2012.
2. H.M. Prison Lancaster Castle, in Lancashire, is closed.
