AGRICULTURAL PRODUCTS (RESTRICTION OF EXPORT) ORDER, 1953.

AGRICULTURAL PRODUCTS (RESTRICTION OF EXPORT) ORDER, 1953.

I, THOMAS WALSH, Minister for Agriculture, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 2 of the Agricultural and Fishery Products (Regulation of Export) Act, 1947 (No. 18 of 1947), hereby order as follows:--

1. (1) This Order may be cited as the Agricultural Products (Restriction of Export) Order, 1953.

(2) This Order shall come into operation on the 1st day of July, 1953.

2. (1) The export of any articles specified in Part I of the Schedule to this Order is hereby prohibited save under and in accordance with a licence in that behalf issued under the Agricultural and Fishery Products (Regulation of Export) Act, 1947 (No. 18 of 1947).

(2) The export of any articles specified in Part II of the Schedule to this Order, otherwise than to Great Britain or Northern Ireland, is hereby prohibited save under and in accordance with a licence in that behalf issued under the Agricultural and Fishery Products (Regulation of Export) Act, 1947 (No. 18 of 1947).

3. (1) This Order does not apply as respects articles exported as part of a traveller's personal luggage.

(2) As respects the articles specified in paragraphs 1, 2, 3, and 4 of the said Schedule, this Order does not apply to--

(a) samples not exceeding 11 lb. in weight which are being exported by parcel post,

(b) articles which, being in quantities considered reasonable by an officer of Customs and Excise, are in use as fodder or bedding with livestock which are being exported, or

(c) straw in use as packing for goods which are being exported.

(3) As respects the articles specified in paragraphs 11 and 14 of the said Schedule, this Order does not apply where the export is effected under a licence issued under the Bacon, Live Pigs and Pork Carcases (Export to Minister of Food) Order, 1952 ( S.I. No. 89 of 1952 ).

SCHEDULE.

PART I.

1. Wheat.

2. Barley, oats, rye and maize, whether whole or subjected to any process of grinding, crushing or flaking.

3. Hay.

4. Straw.

5. Bulbs and corms of flowering plants.

6. Milk, whether fresh, dried or condensed.

7. Cream.

8. Cheese, whether raw or processed.

9. Cattle, dead (including bulls, cows, bullocks, heifers and calves), or any part thereof.

10. Sheep, dead (including lambs), or any part thereof.

11. Pigs, whether live or dead.

12. Beef, including veal.

13. Mutton, including lamb.

14. Pork, bacon and ham.

15. Offals (including heads and feet) of cattle, sheep and pigs, or any part thereof in any condition whatsoever.

16. Meat products of all kinds, including meat products tinned or in other airtight containers.

17. Animal fats, edible (including lard and dripping, but excluding butter).

18. Horse flesh and the offals of horses in any condition whatsoever.

19. Goat-flesh and the offals of goats in any condition whatsoever.

20. Potatoes.

PART II.

21. Cattle, live (including bulls, cows, bullocks, heifers and calves).
