LOCAL GOVERNMENT ACT, 2001

(COMMENCEMENT) (NO. 4) ORDER, 2002.

The Minister for the Environment and Local Government in exercise of the powers conferred on him by section 7 of the Local Government Act, 2001 ( No. 37 of 2001 ) hereby orders as follows:-

1.   This Order may be cited as the Local Government Act, 2001 (Commencement) (No. 4) Order, 2002.

2.   On 1 January, 2004 Chapter 5 of Part 9 of the Local Government Act, 2001 shall come into operation.

3.   On 1 January, 2004 section 5(1) of and Schedule 3 to the Local Government (Amendment) (No. 2) Act, 1934 (No. 44 of 1934) .

EXPLANATORY NOTE

(This note is not part of the Instrument and does not purport to be a legal interpretation).

This Order brings into operation on 1 January, 2004 Chapter 5 of Part 9 which provides for the consolidation of water and waste water treatment and related functions at county level.
