FOREIGN POST AMENDMENT (NO. 35) SCHEME 2002

An Post, in exercise of the powers conferred on it by Section 70 of the Postal and Telecommunications Services Act, 1983 ( No. 24 of 1983 as amended by Regulation 4(1) of the European Communities (Postal Services) Regulations 2000, and with the concurrence of the Director of Telecommunications Regulation to the increases in charges herein made, hereby makes the following Scheme:

1.   This Scheme may be cited as the Foreign Post Amendment (No. 35) Scheme, 2002.

2.   This Scheme shall be operative with effect from the 2 nd day of April 2002.

3.   In this Scheme-

“the Principal Warrant” means the Foreign Post Warrant 1949 (S.I. 267 of 1949).

“Scheme No. 34” means the Foreign Post Amendment (No. 34) Scheme 1998 (S.I. 132 of 1998).

4.   The entries in the Schedule to this Scheme are hereby substituted for the entries in the First Schedule (as inserted by Regulation 15 of Scheme No. 34) to the Principal Warrant insofar as they relate to the letters and postal packets referred to in Regulation 5 of this Scheme.

5.   The rates and charges specified in the Schedule to this Scheme pertain to letters and postal packets within the “reserved area” as defined by the European Communities (Postal Services) Regulations 2000 (S.I. 310 of 2000).
